The Shores of Phoenicia
Clarinet & Piano
Premiered April 6, 2021 at Miller Symphony Hall
Piano – Michael Toth
Clarinet – Boris Shpitalnik
The Shores of Phoenicia composition was inspired by my visit to Byblos in Lebanon and the verse “Sea winds carry messages ancestors whispered to me” from the poem “The Phoenicians” by Arthur Vaso. The clarinet musical themes represent the sea winds and the piano represents the Mediterranean Sea and the waves crashing on the shores of Phoenicia.
